I figure I better mention something about my recent trip to India’s Golden Triangle.

Agra - it’s all about the Taj Mahal. Oh, and the Oberoi Hotel. Both are grand, exquisite and amazing. Salmon pasta at the Oberoi was a disappointment.

Jaipur - massive. The layout of the city reminds me of Melbourne. It’s a large grid full of shops and people. Elephant riding is fun, but it would have been nice if the tour guide would have let me sit in front. Bastard.

Delhi - a trip to India would not be complete without a risk of contracting some sort of disease. The day we left Jaipur for Delhi we caught wind of the Dengue fever outbreak that killed 39 people. Just friggen fantastic. We were only there for one night - a Tuesday night - and it was our last night in India. We couldn’t find a damn bar, or “pub” as the locals call it, to party it up at.

Having visited the Golden Triangle I must say not only did it give me more of an appreciation for Sydney, but it also made me think better of Bangalore. Bangalore is far more suited for travellers such as myself who are after a bit of nightlife sometimes. Of course had we spent more time in Delhi, and done our research, we probably would have found some cool hangouts but even finding a shopping mall proved a challenge.

Overall it was a good trip with long car trips between cities and some fun (and not-so-fun) memories taken away.
