South East Asia calling
It’s only in initial concept phase but I’m planning to travel through South East Asia at the end of the year. Primarily Laos (time for me to re-connect with my heritage), Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. HK, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia may be on the cards. I won’t be doing hotels and I might do hostels but most of my stay will be with local hosts (Couch surfing) and/or volunteering (see below).
Some activities I’m contemplating:
1. Find a spiritual teacher and study Buddhism for a few weeks to a month in Laos
2. Studying Thai massage in Chang Mai
3. Teaching English – paid work or volunteering for a non-profit
4. volunteering in community improvement programs in exchange for room, food & board.
I’m looking for resources, connections, local hosts and suggestions in relation to the activities I’ve mentioned.
So if you can recommend, connect, and/or offer advice do let me know.

fear to love
Man’s basic unhappiness, his perennial restlessness, is because in forgetting how to make love he’s abandoned his original divine authority and lost sexual control of himself. His emotional or psychic degeneracy manifests as sex obsession. All men, without exception, are sex obsessed. This means compulsive sexual fantasising, chronic masturbation (even when living with a partner), sex repression leading to anger and violence, and the universal symptoms of chasing wealth and getting lost in work. Busyness and wealth-gathering compensate for being an inept lover and are cover-ups (in both sexes) for the inability or fear to love. – Barry Long

soup
A cold gloomy day on the street calls for hot lentil soup $2.75 + tax at The Sandwich (Richmond st west & John st). Carrots, onion, celery and peppery goodness!
The lady was even nice enough to microwave my leftovers that I had brought for lunch.
Life is good.
