Bonjour....from France

Well this is almost my last post. I really couldn't be bothered writing up the rest of my trip as it is getting too emotional and personal for me to recall (especially Vienna) and also this french keyboard is a piece of merde!. So wehn I get home in a few days I'll just post some pictures, because they are, as they say, worth a thousand words.

Au Revoir!

ok, those who wanted to know what's in the Attitude Adjuster. I'll need to crosscheck this with the Fusina Bar (as they might have a variation) but here we go...

1 oz vodka
1 oz Gin
1 oz martini
1 oz tequila
1 bottle orange Bacardi Breezer

optional
1 oz lycee liquor
fruit pieces (to make a punch)

mix it all together with cruched ice, serve and away you go!

Mykonos::

Mykonos is a tiny island with a big reputation. On first glance she it appears to be a desolate rock with carlessly placed white washed and blue roofed houses. But on closer inspection its easy to see why it has such a big reputation for partying.

I arrived late on the first night. That meant we didnt get to do much except head to the bar and get trashed (surprised?) after checking in to the cool Contiki Mykonos resort that is. How fortunate for us to be upgraded to this accomodation, with its own beach and laid back atmosphere. My only beef is its semi remoteness from the main town, but thats just a bus ride away. A rickety, old but very greek bus ride away. That night I met a contiki reps (or caps) and some other guests before heading off to bed.

Day 2 was a little more exciting. After a luxurious breakfast at the resort, the best I've had since being away from home, A few friends and myself calmy made our way to the town and the famous Paradise beach by bus. On the way we met 2 lovely Austrian (Vienna?) girls also staying at our resort. They were on their second trip to mykonos because they loved it so much. Unfortunately they were on their way to Super Paradise (another famous beach) so we bid them farewell as we got off for Paradise beach.

At first I was a little dissapointed. No waves, but I didn't expect any anyway. It was very relaxed, thousands of people crammed on Lilos sunbathing all along the pebbly coast. It was cool, but not that cool to be worthy of such a reputation, so I just grabbed lunch, lounged around on the beach, and had a bit of a swim. At around 4:00 in the afternoon as the sun was starting to set the party just starts almost out of nowhere. The pool along the beach gets paccked and all the bars along the beach ar pumping with music and chicks dancing on them. It was insane. Finally I understood why people come here! I made sure my camera came out for a few happy snaps and videos. While everyone else left around 6pm Scott and myself decided to stay till about 10pm, when most people decided to move to the main night clubs (pacha, space, cavo paradiso). We decided however to head back t the resort for some shuteye after a great day partying.

The next day was more of the same only better. We arrived earlier in town (scott and myself) and just walked around the brilliant whitewashed buildings enjoying the relaxed lifestyle. We had lunch and took heaps of photos of each other doing random things. We then headed off to paradise again and partied it up till abou or 9 before we decided to head back into town. We visited a cosy little bar overlooking the crystal turqoise waters of the mediterranean. It was Shaun's birthday so we had a few drinks and shots to celebrate, however everyone seemed to be buggered. While some of our tour went to space nightclub, others including myself went back to the resort to rest.

The last day in mykonos I spent lounging about the pool. Soaking up as much rest as I could. That night Shaun went to Club Pacha to see Erick Morillo, while I stayed at the resort to watch the Olympics opening ceremony (GO TIESTO!) and the openening ceremony party we threw (some what unexpected) at the Pool bar immediately after!. It was an awesome night. I might 3 loveley sydney girls (Its so nice to meet some Sydeny people after so long away from it) We were shouting each other rounds of Vodka and Cranberries till We were all shitfaced.

When they left I ran into the 2 Austrian girls again. We shouted rounds of Tequila shots for the rest of the night (i spent 120 Euro on drinks that night). After some brain damage I headed off to the beach with one of them for a nice chat =))). Before this however the girls had promised me that they would take me out for a nice time when I made it to Vienna. I took their word on this and hoped that they'd follow through. So ends my last night on fabulous mykonos... definitely my favourite place so far.

Athens::

From Corfu it was short ferry ride to Athens the olympic city. I stayed in a Hotel centrally located about a 5 minute walk from the ACROPOLIS! Unfortuanately we only had one night in Athens due to the olympic games, so I tried to make the most of it. After a dissapointing dinner of Chinese curry (dont eat chinese in Athens!) I walked around exploring this ancient city with Matt, a friend on my tour. I managed to get a AUSTRALIAN badge for my bag (AT LAST!) and a huge Aussie flag! Just in time for the olympics which would be starting in a few days from then. We went to see the acropolis at night but couldnt get close enough so we returned to the hotel somewhat defeated.

The next day however before leaving for Mykonos we headed back into the heart of athens to see the Pathenon. I also managed to get my photos on CD (and some of them lost by a dickhead who corrupted my card!) and bought some DKNY slip on shoes for 50 Euros. Bargain! After that it was goodby to our Love Bus for a while as we had to leave it behind to board the ferry to good ol Mykonos.
