Water Lily

It’s only in initial concept phase but I’m planning to travel through South East Asia at the end of the year. Primarily Laos (time for me to re-connect with my heritage), Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. HK, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia may be on the cards. I won’t be doing hotels and I might do hostels but most of my stay will be with local hosts (Couch surfing) and/or volunteering (see below).

Some activities I’m contemplating:
1. Find a spiritual teacher and study Buddhism for a few weeks to a month in Laos
2. Studying Thai massage in Chang Mai
3. Teaching English – paid work or volunteering for a non-profit
4. volunteering in community improvement programs in exchange for room, food & board.

I’m looking for resources, connections, local hosts and suggestions in relation to the activities I’ve mentioned.

So if you can recommend, connect, and/or offer advice do let me know.
