Salsa in Toronto
I’ve been out of the clubs for a long time but from time to time I see people asking for advice on where to Salsa in Toronto.
Ok so here’s some places downtown that I can suggest:
Clubs
Babaluu (Tue – Sun)
Lula Lounge (Fri, Sat)
Acrobat (Fri)
Alleycatz (Mon)
Plaza Flamingo and El Rancho (opposite each other on College & Bathurst) are pretty popular too on fri & sat.
www.tosalsa.com has a great breakdown, day by day, which clubs are open for dancing. You’ll find address info for the clubs mentioned above there also.
Not clubs
My personal fave, and not a club, is Toronto Salsa Practise every saturday afternoon at Trinity St Pauls Church (Bloor & Spadina) from 3:30pm. I’ve danced there many a time, and I love it because it’s bright, doesn’t have the club vibe, and very casual.
During the warmer seasons look out for Sidewalk Salsa, usually on Thursdays 9pm at the South East corner of Bloor & Spadina. $1 donation encouraged for batteries.

As the days get colder here I’ll definitely be looking at putting on my dancing shoes again. This is my friend Luda and I dancing at Brookfield Place in Dec ’08:
