Bonjour Montreal!
I have arrived. It was cold and raining when I got in yesterday afternoon. The drive from Toronto with Andrés was way cool. We stopped at Ajax for breakfast at “The Break of Dawn”. Isn’t that just an awesome name for a breakfast place?
Andrés dropped me off in a wet Montreal at Marie-France’s place for a lovely warm welcome complete with specially made chocolate & peacan cake, cards and belated bday gift from Lena! Hugs all round and a couple of hours of great chat before M-F had to go to a meeting.
I then took a cab a few mins away to Laurier where my new Spring home is. I realised then that I had brought more than I probably should have. I met Lauren and Sabrina my new roomies and the place is lovely. I also met my new cat protectors Thomas (on left) and Cosby (on right):
The apartment is well located, right next to Laurier metro, and minutes walk away from shops, parc, and even a Bikram yoga place. Maybe I should give it a try sometime. The 40-degree thing is kinda scary though… the thought of passing out in my first heated yoga class isn’t exactly exciting!
After some introductions Lauren, Sabrina and I walked to a Thai Place near Mont-Royal for dinner. The food was good, and we had a nice “get-to-know-you” session. We got home around 11pm and by that time it was bed time for all of us.
Looking forward to fun times in Montreal!
