Special Sunday
What a beautiful day…
Yoga On The Beach
I discovered a few days ago, through Craigslist of all places, that every Sunday there is a free yoga class being held five minutes from my place. The best thing about it (apart from the price) is that it’s held under a roof right with a view facing the sand and water. It was brilliant. I also found this class a little more challenging than the Yoga in the Park (Trinity-Bellwoods) event that I attended last weekend with Neesa.

Photos, Photos, Photos
After yoga I returned home and continued working on my photos. I spent most of Saturday and stayed up until 3am reviewing, editing and selecting photos for Nadja (she made an explicit request for “all the photos” of all the events that we’d attended together during her time here in Toronto) who is returning to Germany after completing her internship here (yes, another Nicole situation!).
Anyways I managed to complete the second batch of photos from our NYC trip before it was time to head to Gail’s.
Brunch at Gail’s
Arriving fashionably late (ok it was extremely late and people were starting to head home soon after I arrived), I joined some CS folks at Gail‘s place on the west side of Toronto. There was still enough food to satisfy my hunger so I was happy.
I struggled with finding the right settings on my camera to capture the ambient lighting at Gail’s place and as a result most of my photos came our blurry. I salvaged what I could and uploaded a few to flickr. Click on the pic of Shatzi (my new friend) to view the photos:
Nicole Returns
Sporting a new hair style (and colour), a skirt, and funky black boots as she came out of the passenger arrival gate an hour or so late… that crazy girl from Germany is back!
The Three Amigos are together once again
First order of business was food.
Nepali Mela – The Himalayan Festival
So we stopped by Nathan Phillips Square to sample some Nepalese food at the Himalayan Festival. I had some $5 momos and they were awesome!
Rave at Cherry Beach
A few surfers had messaged me about a rave called Promise at Cherry Beach and seeing as we’d never experienced it before, and Nic was feeling up to checking it out, we (Nic, Jose and I) headed to the beach-side party.
It was fantastic! It’s been a while since I heard progressive/tribal beats. It wasn’t quite the same as the live drumming beats I heard the last time I was at Cherry Beach for Drummers In Exile but the effect was just the same. This party was pumping!
I caught up briefly with Ewa, who had just returned a few days ago from a stint in Vancouver planting trees, and Chris who had spent a month in Cyprus. Garry even showed up later with his fisheye lens.
So now I have two “must-do” items for visitors to Toronto in the summer – Drummers In Exile and Promise Cherry Beach Sundays.
Now I’m buggered, and I’ve still go to finish those photos before Nadja’s farewell party tonight (ARGHHH!). What a special sunday indeed!
