Thanks to Neesa - who is absolutely against me, and anyone for that matter, buying postcards because she feels that my some of our own shots are far more superior to those being sold (I must say I do agree with the sentiment, and thanks for the compliment!) - I’ve decided to turn some of my pics from Cuba into postcards and post them to friends and family.

So I did a bit of a search online and at first I was looking for a company who would allow pics to be uploaded and then they would print them as postcards, send them to me, and I’d write my own message on them and post them out. My search returned the following results:

- VistaPrint can do 100 postcards for $29.99 CAD (B&W) or $41.98 (color back side).
- MyBravoPrint.com does 50 4-color, 2 sided cards for free and 100 for $9.99.
- DigitalRoom.com can do 100 Postcards for $30.24.

None of them works for me. I don’t want 50 or 100 postcards with the same image on them! (Those services may come in handy when I have a business up and running and I want to send postcards to my clients though)

I did, however come across this web page with some really cool ideas. In particular method #1 i.e. peel-and-stick postcard backings.

Now I’m thinking “there’s a truly great idea”. I’ll buy the stick-on 6×4 postcard backings (100 for $23.95 USD, cheaper for more), print the photos myself through Walmart/Blacks/other and just stick them together! Then I’ll write on the back, add a stamp and away it goes!

EDIT (8/8): Neesa sent me this site - www.onepennypost.com - at $2.49 USD per postcard, sent directly to recipient, it’s worth a shot.

EDIT (9/8): For those with Bugbitten accounts, Bugbitten also offer a postcard service. 1 Bugbitten Postcardz $4.95 + GST AUD (approx $4.70 CAD) or 4 Bugbitten Postcardz $12.40 + GST AUD (approx $11.78 CAD).
