So it’s my last day in Sydney today and I was listening to Nova 96.9 in the car this morning when I heard the radio people debating about whether or not it’s possible to have so many magnets on a fridge door that it would cause the hinge to break. Yes, enlightening breakfast radio discussion I know. Anyways, one of the people (we’ll call them “debator #1″) says “WHAT A CROCK!” and then debator #2 says “Mate, that’s a crock!” and hilarity ensued.
If I wasn’t in the driving seat of a car and sitting on a seat somewhere else I would have literally fallen off my seat. It just reminded me of how funny Australian slang can be.
For the uninitiated here’s a definition from itchy-feet.com.au:
Crock - not true, nonsense. “That’s a crock…”
So yes that’s one thing I’ll definitely miss about being here in Sydney. What a crock!
