April 2008

So somehow I got roped into polka-dot (don’t ask) skirt and bag hunting yesterday in Kensington Market with Nadja and Neesa. Ok, I also wanted to look for a bandana (because my hair is getting out of control and I’m holding out until I see my guy in Sydney to get it cut) but that’s beside the point.

I followed the girls from store to store, and of course we hardly missed any stores, and it became apparent that prices in the “market” weren’t what we were expecting. In fact, Nadja ended up buying a red & white polka-dot bag in a Chinatown store on Dundas St West instead (I better note here that Neesa managed to negotiate a 10% discount on it too - much to her excitement).

Funnily enough Neesa and I had been to the exact same store months before when, after walking up and down the same section of Kensington Market, Nicole managed to find a pair of shoes to save her from her wet boots one Winter afternoon. History repeating itself from one German to another? Bizarre!

I noticed the pricing thing the previous times I had visited Kensington Market. Based on my observation it’s popular because it’s boutique, and different. It’s fashionable. What it isn’t, is cheap. Not when it comes to fashion anyway.

I still managed to get some snaps, and it was a lovely afternoon to be walking around.

After the shopping was done - I didn’t end up buying a bandana (I wasn’t even looking seriously because I figure I’ll just pick up my bandana in Sydney and bring it back with me) - it was off to the Full Moon Restaurant for some veggie tucker. Personally I thought that King’s Cafe was better but as always it was more about chilling with friends and having a good time. Mission accomplished.

Wade (I hope this makes up for my slacking with the goals tag lol), Gail, Garry, Chi, Nic… you’re tagged!

Usually I ignore the constant spam I get on my fb superwall but I thought I’d read this today for some reason…

When a GIRL is quiet … millions of things are running in her mind. When a GIRL is not arguing … she is thinking deeply. When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions … she is wondering how long you will be around. When a GIRL answers ” I’m fine ” after a few seconds … she is not at all fine.

When a GIRL stares at you … she is wondering why you are lying. When a GIRL lays on your chest … she is wishing for you to be hers forever. When a GIRL wants to see you everyday… she wants to be pampered. When a GIRL says ” I love you ” … she means it. When a GIRL says ” I miss you ” … no one in this world can miss you more than that.

Life only comes around once make sure u spend it with the right person …. Find a guy … who calls you beautiful instead of hot. who calls you back when you hang up on him. who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the guy who … kisses your forehead. Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats. Who holds your hand in front of his friends. Who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Who turns to his friends and says, ” That’s her!! “

I guess that last paragraph is directed to the girls because I’m not too certain about finding a guy right now… this was a straight copy and paste so don’t ask me why “girl” is capitalised everywhere.

Hmm… so it it true girls?

Oh and what if she makes weird silly faces at you, what the heck does that mean?

I just found out that I could sync my Google Calendar to my Outlook.

Here’s how.

This is great! Especially since I started accessing my gmail via POP server through Outlook starting yesterday. Makes life a whole lot easier. The only thing missing is that I can’t view my friends’ calendars through Outlook but that’s OK. I’ll live.
