Seeing as I can no longer attend the White Party or We Love Sounds due to work commitments (I’m flying to Atlanta over the June long weekend), I’ll be catching James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli (One+One) at Laundry’s 10th Bday this Friday!

The boys will be playing a massive four hour set!

So get this… the fish bone lives on…

I went to the hospital emergency area this morning at 10.30am, and I waited like four hours to see a doctor. Then I see the doctor and it’s actually the nurse that has a clue and says that I need an x-ray. I wait another two hours and there’s no damn X-ray so I’m like "WTF DUDE?" and another nurse (or maybe a scrub) says:

Sorry but we screwed up*, I just ordered an X-ray for you again. Hopefully it’ll be 30 mins like that other guy.

*Note: words may have been altered for dramatic effect

He was referring to some elderly bloke that walked in earlier and had his X-ray done within 30 mins!

So I’m like "alright, no probs" and return to my seat in the waiting room. I waited another HOUR and it was still a no go. By this time I was starving (I only had one banana this morning, and a can of tuna with crackers from the waiting room vending machine around lunch time) and I needed to get home in time to grab a bite to eat and prepare for my salsa class. So I bail.

My throat still has a stabbing pain when I swallow, though it’s not as bad now so I don’t know what the heck is going on. Tomorrow I’ve got an appointment with the dentist so I might go see the GP afterwards to sort this out!

So I’ve got a fish bone stuck in my throat. Not exactly the best sensation in the world but I’ve been trying numerous things to dislodge it.

I did get all dramatic for about five minutes, freaking out my mum at the same time, but I calmed down once I realised that I could still breath.

Attempted:
- Swallowing bunches of boiled rice without chewing, sticky and jasmine
- Drinking juice
- Drinking water
- Swallowing bread pieces, with and without water
- Coughing
- Sticking my finger down my throat
- Broke an egg into a cup and swallowed whole
- Swallowing piece of chocolate whole

Not attempted:
- Vinegar (we don’t have any in the house)
- Sleeping on it
- Peanut butter (don’t have any here)

Of course the trusty TA CORwhores were as helpful as one would expect in this situation. *note sarcasm*

I guess I’ll just sleep on it and if it’s not gone in the morning then it’s off to the hospital.

If this is a test of patience, it’s a pretty good one. I would have preferred something less fishy though!
