The AVRev Top 100 bands of All Time list was compiled in 2006 by a panel of judges using several criteria, including US Sales, songs and songwiriting, technical ability, innovation, live performance, consistency vs longevity, and random play (how likely it was for a judge to listen to a band’s song if they were to come up on an iPod).
Here’s the top 10:
01. Led Zeppelin

02. The Beatles

03. Pink Floyd

04. The Jimi Hendrix Experience

05. Van Halen

06. Queen

07. The Eagles

08. Metallica

09. U2

10. Bob Marley and the Wailers

…
I’ve never heard anything by Zeppelin, Hendrix or Van Halen. Maybe it’s time that I do.

wow, you poor sheltered little child :p no zeppelin, hendrix or van halen? jebus, how did you manage?
im surprised dylan isn’t on that list though… or jeff buckley. besides just one album, jeff tends to make it quite often on the top 10 lists.

Heh, my dad only really listened to The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revial, The Eagles and Lobo when I was growing up.
Got me a copy of Blonde On Blonde, so will have a listen soon.
Never too late to be exposed to the greats
