Ever since I discovered the law of attraction, and started to practise positive thinking, visualisation, listening to subliminal messaging, wonderful things have been happening.
Until recently I believed to some extent that I wasn’t as lucky as some other people, often making statements like "I never win anything". As a result whenever I entered competitions I wouldn’t win anything, which further supported my belief. Surprise surprise, LOA at work!
Now that I think differently, I’ve really noticed different (more positive) results.
The latest in a string of things coming my way arrived in the post today.
This is it…
Here’s the email notification that I received last Thursday:

Now some people may read this and think "so what, you won a CD. Big deal!".
Well in fact, it is. I’m seem to be winning (attracting) things on a more frequent basis now.
Another incident, which was considerably larger (and had far more impact on my self development), occurred a few weeks ago when I was told that I’d have to wait until July to attend the ISA Experience self actualisation 4-day seminar. As it turned out events worked out in my favour and I didn’t have to wait.
Now what I really need to do is to sit down and work out what it is that I really want. I’ve also got to clean up the cluttered space that I call my bedroom as it’s way overdue now. I don’t have much happening this Saturday so that’s when I’ll make it happen.
Following is an email written by a husband of a friend regarding Australia’s (and the world’s) oil dependence. There are some good points there. Read on…
Hi All,
I’m sending out this e-mail trying to raise public awareness of a truly serious problem that Australia (and the world) is facing:
• Our economy and our entire way of life currently is virtually built on the premise of relatively cheap oil: that we can afford to fill our cars with petrol to commute to work, that the agricultural, manufacturing and retail industries can afford to produce and transport food and other products over huge distances at low prices.
• Eventually – and certainly within the lifetime of many of you reading this e-mail – oil will become so scarce and expensive that this will no longer be the case. Even the most optimistic estimates suggest that oil production will begin to permanently decline within the next few decades as, as oil becomes harder and harder to find and extract. There is compelling evidence that this is already happening. As demand grows, especially from China, production will simply not be able to keep up, which can only mean one thing: oil prices will rise dramatically.
• Although there are many promising technologies on horizon that are touted as possible replacements for oil, not only are many of them simply infeasible at the scale necessary (e.g. biofuels like ethanol), but it will be an enormous undertaking to commercialize the technology and build the infrastructure necessary to replace our current oil-based economy, requiring massive government funding and incentives.
While the consequences of ignoring the issue are dire, a combination of individual actions and large scale public and private projects can allow us make the necessary transition.
The problem is that, even in this election year, no politician has yet to stand up and admit there is a problem, let alone propose a solution. Politicians never get elected selling bad news.
The only way this will become a priority for our governments is if public awareness is raised. For example, Climate Change is no worse a problem now than it was in 2001 and 2004, yet barely figured in those elections. Now that the public is aware of the Climate issues, political parties are including possible solutions as part of their campaigns.
What can we do as individuals
• Take measures to reduce your personal oil usage: buy a more efficient car, try carpooling, use public transport, ride your bicycle, telecommute. If every Australian today started reducing their oil usage at a rate of just 3% a year (that is, each year you use 3% less oil-based products than you did the previous year), in 20 years we would each be using a little over half what we do today. If we reduced our usage by 4% each year, we would be using well under a half. For reference, we have managed to reduce our water consumption quite dramatically recently (about 9% over 5 years). While this won’t prevent the oil from running out, it will dramatically reduce our dependence and cushion us from future price hikes.
• Write/speak to your local government representatives and tell them about your concerns.
• Educate yourself and others. Google is your friend – just type ‘Peak Oil’.
I serious urge you to send this on to everyone you know. This is quite possibly the biggest challenge that we face in the coming decades, yet it has barely been mentioned in the media. It will affect every one of us.
