Here are two musicians that I’ve been introduced to over the past two weeks:
LiLi Roquelin
This lovely and talented singer-songwriter left France and made her way to the United States to pursue a career in music. Talk about dedication!
With her true, poetic and melancholic lyrics and the depth of emotion in her voice, LiLi stands as a musician who has a soul to share with the world.
When I first heard "I Saw You" on her myspace site her beautiful vocal combined with the haunting piano melody gave me goosebumps. I was hooked. Such is the power of Lili Roquelin.

Vienna Teng
I first heard about Vienna on Jameyyy’s blog, and all I got was the name. After a quick search I located this artist bio.
There’s nothing old-world about the music of Vienna Teng, whose Zoë/Rounder Records debut brings to mind artists as diverse as Tori Amos, Simon & Garfunkel and Radiohead.
Then I found her myspace site and listened to the samples on there. "Whatever You Want" - with it’s upbeat tempo and catchy chorus had me listening. The diversity in her tracks is really great.

Well this artist and actor has been in the public eye ever since 2000 and she continues to grow. So I’m going to mention her too.
Mandy Moore
I picked up A Walk To Remember DVD (which stars Mandy) for ten dollars a couple of weeks ago at a sale. Bargain! The songs in the movie really showcase some of her musical talent. She’s also been on a couple episodes of Scrubs, one of the most funniest TV shows I’ve seen in ages.

Now if you’re wondering what those "wanted" things are all about, if you like any of those artists and want them to perform in Sydney (or your town) then click on the images. Eventful Demand gives you the power to "Demand" events near you, and once there is what’s called "critical mass" demand then the artist (who must be registered on the site) is notified and they will then know where they have a lot of demand. For performers it allows them to engage their fans and grow their fan base by giving them the power to make events happen. Pretty cool idea.
