If you’re a fan of mussels (and you’re in Sydney) then the All You Can Eat Mussels deal at Bungalow 8 is a must. I was only able to complete close to two pots this time around (both were TomYum flavoured… my pick of the lot), but it was a lovely warm afternoon, great vibe, great company and the mussels plus chunky fries were delish!

What: All U Can Eat Mussels (5 different flavours to choose from) + Chunky Fries baby! [they also do other food if you're not a fan of mussels]

When: Tuesdays for lunch and dinner (booking is absolutely necessary)

Where: Bungalow 8, King St Wharf

Cost: $21.50 + drinks

Web: http://www.bungalow8.com.au/home.html

An email that I received a couple of weeks ago:

Everyone wants to better themselves, whether its improving their health or elevating their allure to other people. Most of them will never make any real attempt at changing themselves for the better.. and thats a very unpleasant fact!

How very true. Funnily enough the email was spam. Now normally I would have deleted the spam without so much as a peep but for some reason that day I didn’t. It’s amazing how things become more clear when you have focus. I liken it to wanting to buy a specific type of car and then all of a sudden seeing that type of car everywhere you go.

Anyway yesterday one of my fellow 100-Dayers posted a link to this criticism of Oprah and “The Secret” and after reading it I couldn’t help but feel that the author, though apparently trying to be objective, was only seeing what he wanted to see (and what he wanted the site readership to see). A lot of the argument used selective soundbites from “The Secret” movie, and conveniently dismissed other soundbites that explain that the concept of creating your own reality is not merely a click your finger magic trick but a philosophy that involves taking inspired and necessary action.

As Lurnea, another 100 day challenge participant, put it:

It’s not positive thinking or just visualizing, it’s affirmative thinking through right action

By the way, if it’s scepticism you seek you won’t beat this guy. He even posted on Joe Vitale’s blog to disprove the LOA theory. All I can say is that the principles, whether they’re true or not, have helped improve my perception of things and I will continue to apply them in my daily life.

I’m not going to continue to beat a dead horse any further. People will always continue to see what they want to see. What harm is there in a product/movement that raises the awareness of human potential anyway, one that encourages taking responsibility for one’s own life, setting goals and maintaining a positive outlook?

People need to start looking inwards instead of trying to take the easy road and focusing outwards. It’s easier to be a critic than a believer.

For those that are interested in understanding more about the LOA, refer here to download an mp3 of a roundtable discussion between Stephen Lewis, Rev Dr Michael Beckwith and James Arthur Ray. You’ll find it under “online video/audio” on the left hand menu. (thanks to busy91 for the linkage)
