Plugins are like accessories for the fashion conscious. If you’re somebody that likes to tinker and play around with things ie. find ways to break your blog then you’re just like me. It’s all about customisation really. After all, we all want to be different right? ;)

Anyways, here’s a list of the plugins I’ve installed recently:

  • Show Top Commentators - pretty self explanatory. Check out the top 5 commentators on this blog (over the past 30 days) on the sidebar
  • Brians Threaded Comments - allows users to post a nested response to specific comments, similar to the comments structure on youtube. Though installed, I’m not sure if this is actually working yet.
  • Related Entries - searches the blog archive to find posts related to the current post. This one is awesome. I had issues with it ie. it broke after upgrading my theme last week but I figured out last night that the code required to call the function was missing on the index page and single post page of the theme.
  • Posts for Category - this plugin post listings in various formats for one or more category ids. To see this in action check out the 100 Days category page.
  • Category Visibility - display Posts only from certain categories. Notice there is only one category displaying on the sidebar? That’s thanks to this plugin.
  • Snap Preview Anywhere (SPA) - handy little plugin that displays a preview of any external URL as you hover the mouse pointer over a link.
  • Sidebar Modules - a plugin for Wordpress that allows you to create blocks, or “modules” in your sidebar and re-order them. It’s similar to Wordpress Widgets, but better. I can’t seem to get it working though :(
