Why am I not surprised to see that Paris Hilton was involved?

As I battle through this tempestuous time - career, finance and now health all being challenged - I am reminded of a quote from my high school 2-unit English days (thanks Margaret Smith!)…
When sorrows come, they come not single spies, but in batallions. – William Shakespeare, Hamlet, IV:5
In other words…
Good Things Come in Threes, and Bad Things Too.

Sitting in the waiting room for 2 hours for the first meeting with the GP was hell. I wanted to lie down so badly but I couldn’t. For some time there were some annoying kids too. Being kids they just wouldn’t shut up. Normally I wouldn’t have minded but I was far from normal today.
When I finally met the GP I explained that the previous doctor’s advice had not worked, and I was soon referred to the Liverpool Diagnostics centre for a CT scan.

The conclusion from the CT scan:
A region of vasogenic oedema is demonstrated in the left temporoparietal area posteriorly. The appearance is non-specific with no associated enhancement. Possible causes might include an ear of encephalitis but a neoplastic process, particularly a primary lesion would not be excluded. Further assessment by MRI is recommended together with neurology evaluation.
Do I know what this means?
No.
Am I scared?
A little. Especially when I feel the little pain every time I bend my right arm, and notice the band aids covering the point where I was injected with some sort of metallic substance that allowed the scan results to be more clear.

It’s all so surreal to me, just like when I found myself walking through Westfields Liverpool this morning. I felt like I was high, but with my head about to explode at any point. At least I got some free sushi in addition to the $4 tofu pack that I bought, which ended up being my lunch for the day. The torturous two hour wait followed soon afterwards.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the GP who will try and schedule me in for a meeting with a local neurologist.
Emailed the boss. Until today, when I sent an email to the team informing them that I was sick and been battling a migraine for over a week, he probably wasn’t even aware that I was having the headaches. I wonder what he’ll think of all this.
Yes I’m living out a real-life episode of House M.D.

Seems I’m losing the war against the mighty migraine. The bitch is back, and I spent most of the buck’s night in head pain. Driving home wasn’t fun either as I feared that I might get into an accident or something.
One of the guys recommended that I get a prescription for an expensive migraine pill. At $40 for four pills that stuff better damn work. I don’t know… here’s hoping that after I finish my can of Edgell corn kernels (no added salt), drop two aspirins and get to sleep, that I’ll wake up and everything will be peachy. Based on the past six days… I’m not betting on it
As for why I’m eating a can of corn kernels at 1:30 am - it’s because I didn’t feel like eating at the buck’s. I had one slice of extremely salty pizza (I haven’t had anything salty, or any pizza, in over three or more weeks) and that was all that I could stomach. Thankfully I had the foresight to have a tuna sandwich before I left for the party.
The buck’s party was relatively tame, especially considering the company in attendance. I think the long island iced teas knocked them out way too soon in the evening, and it was just a hard slog from that point onwards. It was good to put my bartender set into use again, though nobody actually drank my version of the long island iced tea (there was no tequila, so I used contreau as a substitute). Oh well, there will be a next time I’m sure.
Oh and the best man’s decision to book a 3-bedroom apartment overlooking the city at the Meriton World Tower, at a discounted rate through wotif.com, must be commended. Best apartment ever, and right in the heart of the city. The views were just spectacular.
Alright my eyes are feeling droopy so I think it’s time for lights out. Wish me luck.
