I’ll be doing the Syd-Melb double this weekend (uh oh!). The last time that they came together was five years ago so I’m taking the opportunity to get as much Sasha & Digweed as I can.
There’s been a proliferation in Sydney in recent times of something that’s been referred to as “the bang gang” dance.
Here’s a video:
Though I find it humorous I honestly cannot take it seriously (neither can some tranceaddicts). Perhaps it was never meant to be taken seriously. Unfortunately some people actually do.
Now this on the other hand, is some wicked body movement. Usher has some cool moves, and this guy is quite alright too
Toz introduced myself, mishku (visiting from Melb) & PJ to Dolcissimo on Sat night. We arrived around 9pm and it was packed. Service was surprisingly quick though the waiter forgot our water as well as my gelato later on. She was very nice about it so no complaints about attitude here. I can imagine how stressful it’d be working there.
I had the salmon entree and shared a four seasons pizza. Salmon was well presented. Absolutely loved the pizza.
For dessert the “home of Australia’s finest gelato” lived up to its name. My friends haven’t stopped raving about it since. Almond and pistachio were my flavours of choice and it was the almond that won me over. Deelish!
Great thing that we avoided the peak dinner hours having heard that the wait times can sometimes be ridiculous. Made the experience a whole lot more enjoyable.
Unfortunately we had no stomach to sample the Nutella pizza (!) but that’s OK. Gives me another reason to go back in the future
The rest of the evening involved a somewhat taxing drive from the city to the South West in search of alcohol and a missing driver’s license before finally heading back into town to drink and boogie it up at The Basement at Circular Quay. And drink we did. Some vodka & red bull, several rounds of tequila, jagermeister, quick f*cks and vodka & cranberry resulted in some crazy robot moves, melbourne shuffling and amateur gang bang imitations on the dance floor. UK-based DJ Anthony Pappa (originally from Melbourne) must have been impressed. We sure were!
Arrived home around 7am the next morning. Theoretically 8am as daylight saving had kicked in (unbeknownst to any of us).
Oh and if you’re reading this T & K, I told you Soup Plus existed on 383 George Street! Damn outdated website!!
Motorola has partnered with web design guru Joshua Davis and the result is the Motokrzr Kaleidoscope. Very cool and totally trippy. I just made my own kaleidoscopic image online. Click for 800×600.
