September 2006

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… you gotta LOVE free wireless internet in Singapore’s Changi Airport. Just arrived about 30 mins ago after an 8 hour flight from Sydney. Chilling out with some work colleagues at the Sports Bar before our next flight to Bangalore. Yep, back to Bangers for some more fun in the Indian sun. OK, we’ll be doing the long hours and minimal sleep also but it’s only a week and we’ve got a contingent (9 people this time) so it’s do-able. The following week I’ve taken annual leave and will be travelling with two colleagues to the Golden Triangle - Delhi, Agra & Jaipur. I’m going to see the Taj baby!

Alright, back to my Singapore Sling :)

Memo that went around the office yesterday…

We have been advised that several employees working at the site during the week of 11 September have contracted chicken pox.

Chicken pox is a very contagious virus which commonly occurs in children.  Approximately 90% of the population contract the virus by the age of 15.  People rarely get chicken pox twice.

Should you have any concerns about your health, please seek medical advice from your GP.  Additional information about the virus and its symptoms is available from the NSW Health website (URL below).

We again remind everyone to use good hygiene practices at all times, including covering the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, keeping one’s hands away from the eyes, nose and mouth, and washing hands carefully.

Regards,
K Lake – Site Manager

Thank goodness I already had the pox when I was 17 — first year of uni actually — and that was not an experience that I’d like to re-live ever again.

Says a lot about the level of hygiene within the office doesn’t it? Guess it could happen anywhere really.

How’s this for a world record?

I took an unmixed compilation that a friend gave to me, re-arranged the order of tracks for better flow and this is the result.

Thought I’d share a couple of mixes I did a while ago.

I originally wanted to put together some chilled trance that reminded me of the scene that I saw in Cyrus’ “Ibiza’s Children” video - of people chilling on the beach at Cafe Del Mar as the sun was setting (and of course the track in the video was Jose Amnesia’s The Eternal Sunrise Mix). I have yet to go there but it’s definitely on my “must do before I die” list.

The second mix is a bit faster and I introduced some progressive beats.

Both are great for some nice chilling out or a relaxed drive in the car.

Enjoy.

Listener Review:

The 2nd mix is class, but the 1st is truly phenomenal! Some of my favorite chill tunes in there, and the transitions are quite good for the most part! The flow of the first mix is so smooth — a little less so on the 2nd with a couple of more abrupt and jarring transitions, but either one is a great soundtrack to doing homework or doing some leisure reading. I have to admit too… when I saw Wavy Gravy in there I was really skeptical, as I’ve tried mixing with that song and there aren’t many other tracks that work too well with it. But the Lustral tune matches well, and although I think the mix could have been prolonged a bit, it works. — Lebezniatnikov

…absolutely loving it! cant wait 2 play in car with top down while cruisin home thru CALI..keep me updated if you make a new mix! — fmodena369
